What this covers
These terms apply to the Scrimshaw app for iPhone, published by Antipode Technologies Inc. Installing the app means accepting them. They are short because the app is simple: it is a game that runs on your phone and keeps nothing about you.
What you get
A personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own. The game itself is free. You may not resell it, take it apart, or ship it as part of something else.
The upgrade
Scrimshaw offers one optional purchase. It removes the advert option for good and grants the bonus it would have given you, permanently. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and there is nothing else to buy.
The purchase is tied to your Apple Account rather than to a device, so it restores on a new phone. Apple handles the money and Apple handles refunds; we cannot issue one, because we never take the payment. Refund requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your save
Your voyage lives in a file on your phone and nowhere else. Deleting the app deletes it. There is no cloud backup in this version, so a lost or wiped phone means a lost voyage, and we cannot recover one for you because we never had a copy.
Adverts
Adverts in Scrimshaw are optional and are never shown unless you tap a button asking for one. What they involve is described in the privacy policy. Advert content comes from a third-party network and is not chosen by us.
What we do not promise
The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it is free of defects, that it will suit any particular purpose, or that it will keep working on future versions of iOS, though we intend to keep it working and will say so here if we stop.
Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law where you live, including under Canadian consumer protection legislation, and where those rights conflict with these terms, those rights win.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Antipode Technologies Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using the app. The game costs nothing to install and stores nothing of consequence, which is the honest scale of what is at stake here.
Changes and ending
These terms may change; the date at the top moves when they do, and a material change is published here before the release it applies to. You can end this licence at any time by deleting the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
